Not Your Typical Diet Regimen

I looked into the Medifast review because I decided to take some serious measures to lose weight and thought a planned meal plan could help accomplish that goal. We’ve all heard about diets that send you all your meals pre-packaged and all you need to do is prepare them and then follow the plan and soon the pounds just melt away. I was a bit skeptical that this type of diet would work for me because I just can’t give up the snacking. It’s not the meals that kill me, it’s all the junk I eat in between eating those meals.

What excited me about immediately about Medifast is that this is not your normal three squares a day plan. With Medifast you eat six meals and snacks a day! That is spread out throughout your day which sounded perfect for me. Do I want a snack? Sure and I am allowed one with this plan! It’s perfect. Continue reading “Not Your Typical Diet Regimen”

The Perfect Home for the Two of Us

I knew that I had to contact the Denver realtor who had listings available for a few houses that I was interested in. My husband and I moved to Denver nearly three years ago. Our plan was to have a luxury apartment for at least one year, then we would know the area much better and could decide where we wanted to purchase a home. I would look every couple of months at new listings, but nothing really appealed to me until I saw the homes at Cherry Creek.

This is a private community where only 23 homes are located. Continue reading “The Perfect Home for the Two of Us”

Finding the Perfect Place to Live for My Mother-In-Law

When my mother-in-law started getting up in years, and began experiencing more than her fair share of health issues, my husband and the rest of his siblings started a campaign to get their mother to move a whole lot closer to all of us in Georgia. Being the only one of the group with a job that I could work from home, I was tasked with checking out apartments in McDonough, that would be close to the best medical facilities available in Atlanta and close to all of her children in the surrounding suburbs as well.

My mother-in-law is a sweet woman and not the least bit picky, but we wanted her to have the very best place to call her home with all of the amenities and nicest appliances and luxuries to make the transition from the house she had lived in since marriage to my father-in-law, 48 years prior, an easy one. We wanted plenty of outdoor space that she could enjoy as even though she was well-past wanting to mow a lawn or tend a garden, she still enjoyed just sitting outside and enjoying a cup of coffee.

Security was also important as my mother-in-law was already a bit unsure about moving from her small, safe community to a much larger city and we didn’t want her having to worry about a thing.

When my mother-in-law saw the high ceilings in some of the apartments we looked at, I had to remind her that not only were those places far more energy efficient than her old home, but that she wouldn’t need to worry about heating the place for nine months out of the year as she was accustomed to in Michigan. I drove her from the apartments we looked at to the home of each of her children and I think seeing how close we all would be nailed it for her as she signed a lease and started making moving arrangements the very first day we went out looking for place for her to live.

My Daughter Wanted to Come Live with Me

When I found out I had a daughter, I was so surprised. I had no idea, and I wanted to become a part of her life. She still lived with her mother, but the two of us got very close. After about a year of spending time together and realizing I loved her more than life itself, she told me she wanted to move out of her mother’s house. I was excited about becoming a full time dad, and the two of us picked out an apartment at the Regency at Outlook Canyon complex.

The sad thing about this is that her mother didn’t even care. Or, maybe that is the really good thing about this. I knew that I could offer my daughter the life she had never had, and she would be blessing me even more. The two bedroom apartment that we chose meant that she would not have to go to a new school, and it actually put me a little closer to my work too.
